Spring Morning Tea

October 24, 2011

The Zumba inspired Spring Morning Tea, presented by Milton Ulladulla Branch on September 21, was a spectacular success. Although numbers were down, the Ulladulla church hall, decorated with bright balloons and filled with Latin and African music, welcomed seventy-five members and guests.

Graciella Lavelle, the Zumba dance fitness instructor, the grand daughter of member Carmel Pirrello, who was joined by Grace Puglisi, gave us an amazing demonstration of what she calls, “therapy for the soul”. Graciella explained that Zumba had helped her recover from a debilitating health problem which caused her chronic pain. Since then, she has become an instructor and says that Zumba is “addictive, exhilarating and effective”. She showed us Zumba “gold” moves (for the active older participant) and this inspired many in the audience to get up off their chairs and Zumba!

Many lucky door prizes were won, the main raffle prize was a hand-made jewellery set made by talented member, Meg Thomas, and the coffee, cake and conversation was a good as it always is at the annual Spring Morning Tea.
