Gwynneville news

Margaret Bartley reports on the “Mothers and Daughters” function which the Gwynneville branch hosted last weekend.

St. Brigid’s Gwynneville C.W.L.A. Members worked hard over the weekend of 21st and 22nd April to present a colourful exhibition of Wrap with Love Rugs – to give parishioners and many of the people who are involved with knitting the squares and completing the rugs the opportunity to see other’s work.

Devonshire Tea was served on Saturday afternoon, sherry, wine and orange juice on Saturday evening and tea and scones on Sunday morning.

The Parish Hall was a kaleidoscope of colour with more than 100 rugs.

Fact sheets giving information about Matercare and Wrap with Love were available as well as pattern sheets for the wraps. Some daughters and granddaughters helped to set up the hall while another family of daughters and granddaughters helped with the packing up.

Approximately $500 was raised for Matercare.
