Wrap with love May 2007

You can find out more about WWL (and patterns) from THIS PAGE of the NSW Arts and Crafts site.

Make 27 more squares using your preferred colours.
Join 4 strips of seven motifs each (28 squares total) to make a colourful half-size wrap for a child.

Joining techniques for the wrap which is pictured are as follows:
Join squares
Ss in first corner of first square, make 1 ch, then ss in first corner of second square, make ch 1;ss into next stitch of first square, make 1 ch, then ss into next stitch of second square.
Continue in this manner, keeping the stitches neatly opposite and not pulling too tight so that the join lays flat.
The 4 strips are then joined using the same method.

Edging:

Round 1. Join chosen colour to any stitch with a ss, make 1 ch then dc into each st all around (making 3 dc into each corner).
Round 2. Crab st all around. (Crab stitch is a dc stitch in ‘reverse’)

NOTES:
Single colour squares: work the required number of slip stitches to get to the chain space where the next ’round’ starts.

Instructions above are English/Australian
Conversion (if needed)
English dc (double crochet) = US sc (single crochet)
English tr (treble) = US dc (double crochet)
