St Patrick’s Day

Members of Wollongong Diocese CWLA decided St Patrick’s Day was a great day to join together for another river cruise. Last year they enjoyed the leisurely trip up the Hacking river. This year they chose the Shoalhaven. As the boat travelled up the river, the members and friends enjoyed a delightful morning tea,an interesting commentary by the “Captain” of the locations they were passing while they focused on the beautiful river and bushland through which they were drifting.

Eileen ( Bay and Basin), the leader of the gang, was determined all would remember the day and talk to their families and friends about it for a long time to come. She had arranged competitions, raffles and let St. Val lead the singing of Irish and other, old favourites. Of course St Patrick  was not able to attend, however the ladies who did made sure they were wearing something green as a reminder of his faith and inspiration to Irish people everywhere.

On returning to the mundane world lunch was apriority. Nowra members had prepared a light luncheon so the travelers sought refreshment at St Michael’s hall.

From the smiles, laughter and tales told all had a wonderful trip and enjoyed their time, although short, in the Shoalhaven.
